Film Night – Dunkerk
On Monday, October 5, the first film night of this semester, organized by Studentská sekce IIPS, took place.
The debate featured Hana Strašáková from the non-governmental organization Díki že můžem and Tobiáš Bruno Galia, co-founder of the youth organization YPALA, and was moderated by Mária Jakabová, co-founder of Slovak Women Empowerment.
The first round table of this semester focused on how the position of women has changed since the communist era, as well as on today's political culture and the attacks women face in public life. The guests shared their views on the topic, along with their own experiences and the stories of women who inspire them. The discussion also touched on intergenerational dialogue, which creates space for sharing experiences, opinions and perspectives, and on why it matters today. It helps us understand one another better, connect the experiences of the past with the present, and look for solutions together.
Finally, the guests offered encouraging words, especially to young people, to become more politically engaged and to strive for change.
